Volunteers Needed: Work Party at Plough Pond – Friday 6th March

We are calling on members and volunteers to lend a hand at our upcoming Work Party at Plough Pond on Friday 6th March, starting at 09:00.

This important session will focus on installing the first batch of Coir Rolls around the island, a key step in improving the pond’s habitat, protecting the banks from erosion, and enhancing the environment for both fish and wildlife.

The Coir Rolls are scheduled for delivery on Wednesday 4th March, when a small team will be on site to receive the materials and carry out some preliminary preparation work ahead of the main Work Party.

How You Can Help

Work Parties are vital to maintaining and improving our waters, and any help—no matter how much time you can spare—would be greatly appreciated. Tasks will include positioning and securing the Coir Rolls, as well as general assistance around the work area.

If you have access to gardening tools or power tools that may help with installation or site preparation, please feel free to bring them along. Your equipment could make a big difference and help the work progress more efficiently.

Refreshments Provided

To keep everyone going, refreshments will be available, including cakes and other treats, so there’s even more reason to come along and get involved!

Get Involved

Whether you can stay for the full session or just an hour or two, your support makes a real difference. Many hands make light work, and your contribution will help improve Plough Pond for the benefit of all members and the wildlife it supports.

Thank you in advance for your continued support—we look forward to seeing you there.
