Plough Pond Development Update

We are pleased to share progress on the ongoing Plough Pond development efforts. Recently, three coir rolls containing over 36+ Carex riparia (Greater Pond Sedge) aquatic plants were successfully installed along the pond margin. This planting will help stabilize the banks and enhance the pond’s biodiversity.

In preparation for this, our dedicated club members worked tirelessly to remove overhanging trees and clear the bankside, ensuring a perfect environment for the new plants to thrive. Their hard work is crucial to restoring the pond’s natural habitat and increasing fish refuge areas.

This installation serves as the club’s proof of concept before it submits an application for a grant from the Environment Agency to support further development. Stay tuned for more updates!
