27 April, 2025 – Weymouth Sea Fishing Trip

The Sea Fishing Group enjoyed a highly successful trip from Weymouth on 27th April, with ideal conditions and a productive day’s fishing.

The day began with a targeted session for Conger Eel, which proved to be very fruitful. A total of 10 Congers were landed, with the standout catch being a 45lb specimen taken by Owain – a real prize fish. Ian also hooked an impressive 35lb Conger, securing his bragging rights for the day. Not to be outdone, Paul landed a 35lb Tope, a superb bonus catch that added excitement to the morning.

In a lighter moment, Chris candidly admitted he has yet to catch a Conger over 30lb – a revelation met with deep and sincere sympathy from the rest of the crew (or so they claim!).

The trip was rounded off with a session targeting Black Bream and Bass. The group landed 3 Black Bream in the 2½ to 3lb range, along with 5 Bass, completing a well-balanced and satisfying day’s fishing.

The next Sea Fishing Group trip is scheduled to sail from Weymouth on 15th June 2025.

One particular standout is the massive 200lb+ Thresher Shark landed by none other than Sea Fishing Secretary Chris Judkins – a truly remarkable catch that continues to inspire (and slightly intimidate) fellow members.

Tight lines until next time!
