Another Great Day at Sea for the Sea Fishing Group – 15th June 2025

The Sea Fishing Group enjoyed another memorable day out on the water with their latest sailing from Weymouth on 15th June. With calm seas, good company, and plenty of action, it was a fantastic outing for all involved.
A total of 18 Conger Eels were caught during the trip, several of which weighed over 30lbs. A special congratulations goes to Terry Warncken, who landed a 22lb Conger on his first outing with the group—a great achievement and hopefully the first of many!
Barry had a productive day too, reeling in two Tope, while Bob hooked an impressive 20lb Blonde Ray. A small Turbot was also caught and respectfully released back into the sea.

First-Class Skipper and Vessel
A huge part of the day’s success is thanks to the experience and professionalism of Skipper Lyle and his first mate, Logan, who captained Meerkat Charters out of Weymouth. Their knowledge of local waters and commitment to delivering a safe and enjoyable experience are second to none.

The trip was made even better by their impressive vessel, the Meerkat—an exceptionally stable boat both at anchor and while drifting. Measuring 11 metres by 4.5 metres, the Meerkat offers ample deck space for all anglers aboard. Powered by twin 200hp turbocharged diesel engines, she cruises smoothly at 15 knots and can reach up to 23 knots when needed. It’s a seriously capable and comfortable platform for any fishing adventure.
Coming Up Next – 6th July 2025
The Sea Fishing Group’s next trip will set sail again from Weymouth on 6th July 2025. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just starting out, these trips are a great opportunity to get involved in the thrill of sea fishing and enjoy some fantastic company.
